Concept Fire Sprinklers was appointed, in partnership with CARDO, to carry out adaptation works to the existing sprinkler system at Nelson House in Cardiff.
The project forms part of a wider refurbishment programme across multiple floors, ensuring the building's fire protection system meets the latest BS 9251:2021 standards while allowing the refurbishment works to progress safely.

The Project
Rather than replacing the entire system, our engineers adapted and upgraded the existing installation to bring it into compliance with current British Standards.
Working within an occupied residential building required careful planning and coordination with the wider project team to minimise disruption while maintaining the integrity of the fire protection system throughout the works.
Our Solution
Our team delivered:
Adaptation of the existing sprinkler system
Upgrades to achieve compliance with BS 9251:2021
Close collaboration with CARDO throughout the refurbishment
Installation carried out under our IFC Certification
Full testing and commissioning upon completion
The Result
The upgraded sprinkler installation now provides enhanced fire protection while meeting current regulatory requirements, helping safeguard residents and supporting the long-term refurbishment of Nelson House.
