As the spring blossoms, so does the spirit of giving and sportsmanship at Concept Fire and Security. This June 14th, we are proud to host the second annual Eddie Butler Memorial Golf Day at the picturesque St Mellons Golf Club. Following our successful inaugural event last year, we continue our mission to combine our love for golf with our commitment to charity through our philanthropic division, Concept Charitables.

Named in honour of the late Eddie Butler, a renowned rugby player and broadcaster whose passion for sports was matched only by his dedication to charitable causes, this event seeks to carry forward his legacy. Eddie was admired not only for his sports achievements but also for his eloquent voice in journalism and his tireless philanthropic efforts. The Eddie Butler Golf Cup embodies his spirit by supporting causes he held dear, bringing together community members through the game he loved.
Concept Charitables: Driving Change One Swing at a Time
Concept Charitables, a key organiser of this event, is a charity established by the Concept Group to streamline and amplify our charitable efforts. By focusing on organised events like the Eddie Butler Golf Cup, Concept Charitables ensures that every stroke played on the golf course contributes directly to impactful causes. Last year, we raised an impressive £10,448.62, which was generously donated to Diabetes UK and the Stroke Association. This year, we aim to not only match but exceed this amount, furthering research and support for those affected by these conditions.
Event Highlights and Details
The Eddie Butler Golf Cup 2024 promises an engaging day filled with competitive golf, networking, and fundraising. For a participation fee of £450 per team of four, with the option to sponsor a hole for £550, golfers will experience:
Arrival and Welcome: Begin your day with warm tea, coffee, and a bacon roll.
The Competition: Enjoy a tee-off between 09:30 and 10:30 AM for an 18-hole round at the stunning St Mellons Golf Course.
Special Contest: Participate in the Hole in One contest for a chance to win a car.
Dining and Awards: Conclude the day with a two-course society dinner, where numerous prizes will be awarded, and a raffle will take place to raise additional funds.
